Our club meets every Thursday at twelve fifteen, at the Queensbury Hotel in downtown Glens Falls, NY and offers our members (135) and guests the highest level of spirit, fellowship and opportunity for community service. Granville Rotary Seeks Teams For Annual Trivia Night

Rotary Seeking Applicants for Study Abroad Program in Japan
Rotary International is offering the unique experience of four weeks in Japan on a vocational and cultural visit.
The trip is to the Ibaraki Prefecture just north of Tokyo. Travel commences on March 14, 2012.
Participants must be between the ages of 25 and 40, non-Rotarians, fully employed with at least two years of work experience in their chosen field and reside in or be employed in the Capital District area.
The team consists of four members and a Rotarian team leader. Team members study Japanese institutions and ways of life and observe how their own vocations are practiced, with the opportunity to develop personal and professional relationships and exchange ideas. Team members can come from corporations, small businesses, community organizations, medical and educational facilities, government offices and nonprofit agencies.
The program includes round-trip airfare and staying with Rotarian host families. Language training is provided.

Rotary Second Annual 5K Race Will Help Two Local Charities in 2012
The Glens Falls Rotary has announced that the proceeds from their 2nd Annual 5K Road Race will be given to the Adirondack Samaritan Counseling Center and WAIT House to help support the two local charities. The race, which was named The Rotary 5K in its inaugural year, will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012. It will start and end at the SUNY Adirondack campus on Bay Road in Queensbury . (Read more)

Water Walk 6 Raises $10,000 for Haiti
The Rotary Club of Glens Falls once again hosted it's annual Water Walk on May 7th and raised over $10,000 in critically needed funds for clean water projects in Haiti. The event has been an annual benefit held in Crandall Park, Glens Falls, NY during National Water Week and has attracted scores of kids and adults who form teams of walkers and participate in a relay event to raise money and awareness for the need of clean water in third world countries. Our local club wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the participants and to all of the corporate sponsors who generously donated money and services to make this year's event a huge success. Rotary 5K to Benefit Open Door is a Big Success
The 1st annual Rotary 5K Sponsored by the Glens Falls Rotary Club and SUNY Adirondack was held on April 9 at the SUNY campus where 261 runners and walkers enjoyed a sunny spring morning in support of the Open Door Mission. The event was organized by the local club as a way to help raise critically needed funds to feed and house many of the local citizens who have fallen on hard times. The event raised in excess of $6,000 for the Mission through the combined efforts of the Rotary Club, SUNY Adirondack, numerous local businesses, and the runners who participated in the event. Rotary Club of Glens Falls To Award High School Scholarships for 2011
Rotarians know that many of our local high school students selflessly provide community service to local organizations and causes. To salute those students, several years ago the Rotary Club of Glens Falls created a scholarship program for graduating seniors from Glens Falls and Queensbury High Schools.
This year $5,000 of scholarship assistance will be available to qualified, deserving graduating seniors, in an amount up to $2,500 per student. The awards may be given to students from one or both schools. Read More
